The introduction of a tiered study system with Bachelor- and Master programmes in Germany is connected with the standardisation of structures in higher education in Europe. The objective is transnational studying, researching and working. The reform known as the Bologna process has replaced the Diploma study programmes.
The Bachelor is the first academic degree that is awarded after completion of an academic education. All existing study programmes at the University of Applied Sciences HAW Ingolstadt have been converted from Diploma to Bachelor. Over the last years the range of Bachelor programmes has been continuously extended. An undergraduate Bachelor study at the University of Applied Sciences HAW Ingolstadt usually takes 3.5 years.
