Program Objectives:

By means of practice- and application-oriented teaching, based upon scientific findings and methods, the Bachelor programme Business Information Systems conveys competencies, that enable a self dependent professional life as a business data processing specialist. Besides procuring theoretical basic knowledge and basic competencies, use-oriented problems from practice are analysed and respective solutions are developed. Moreover, the students should acquire the required flexibility for coping with the rapidly proceeding development in data processing. Amongst others, this is ensured by means of case studies, project works and the exposure with typical application systems and tools. In addition, the practical relevance is assured by a practical semester in a business company. Furthermore, the study programme Business Information Systems can be completed as a dual study with immerged practice, whereby practical phases in business companies are connected during the total course of studies.

The compentency in business information systems builds up on well-founded knowledge in computer sciences and business administration. To assure this competency effectively, the study programme Business Information Systems is offered in co-operation of both the faculty of Business and the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Hereby stands by a broad spectrum of competencies from both areas for the study programme.

In the last CHE-Ranking (May 2011), the study programme Business Information Systems achieved a top position in Bavaria.
