In the field of competency Economics, the students get an overview of different issues from micro- and macroeconomics. Cross-linked ways of thinking and perceptions are learned, applied and tightened. The basic knowledge is systematically conveyed to the students. Application possibilities of economic theories and models are presented by the means of examples from the lecturers' experiences. 

After attending the lectures, students should

• know the relevant economic and politico-economic institutions and their functionalities
• be familiar with the fundamental economic terms, the microeconomic basics and the central macroeconomic problem areas
• have gained first insights how theoretical concepts can be applied to solve concrete business and politico-economic problems
• possess the economic competency to classify current problems and media information economically.
• possess the prerequisites to deal with specific economic areas of science in the further studies and deepen the obtained knowledge
