The CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY RESEARCH at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences is a platform for applied research in the field of all renewable energy sources. In co-operation with renewable energy technology companies, applied research is currently carried out in the following fields of technology:

• Bioenergy (wood-fired power plants, technical and economic optimisation of biogas plants, biogas upgrading technology, biogas grids, …),
• Energy System Technnology (local and regional energy concepts, combined heat and power plant systems, district heating, energy efficiency in industrial applications, …),
• Innovative Building Technology (optimum building control, heat pumps, solar climatisation, solar process heat, …),
• Solar-Thermal Collectors (flat-plate collector optimisation, in-situ collector testing, absorber development, …).

Next to adequate engineering software equipment, several laboratory installations are available for testing and optimisation of renewable energy components and systems.
