The Institute for Applied Research (IAF) counts at the moment more than four times the number of ten project engineers it counted at the beginning of 2005. This numerical increase points to a considerable expansion of the research and transfer potential of Ingolstadt University. The development is supported by a combination of various research activities, especially in technology fields where our university reaches the so-called “critical mass” which defines its profile. In this respect, IAF focuses on the following competence fields:
